You bought a website development package, your hosting service provided a site builder, you got a bunch of templates.
- Your site has been working then all of a sudden it stopped.
- You uploaded one new page and nothing works.
- You have a page of images and half of them show up as little red 'X's.
If any of these sound familiar to you, read on.
New tools have made the designing and creation of a website fast and simple... until something changes. Perhaps your hosting company changed platforms. Perhaps they merged with another company and changed hardware. Perhaps the tool you used to build the site is no longer supported (e.g. Microsoft FrontPage). Whatever the reason, your site doesn't work, and you're out of business!
Our website analysis can provide you with the information you need to address potential problems ahead of time. Many of the things we find are very easy to correct and plan for.
Some of the specific things we look at:
- platform specific code (can your website run on any server, or only certain kinds?)
- tool specific code (does your website require special software on the server?)
- file nameing conventions (will your files disappear on some servers?)
- link targets (do your external links take visitors away from your site?)
- image processing (are your pages slow? do your graphics format properly?)
Optional items
- WC3 validation of your HTML code (is your site compliant with current standards?)
- Multiple Browser Validation (will your site work on all the popular web browsers?)
